Drew McIntyre WWE Return: Latest Update After Six Months Away

Drew McIntyre has not been on WWE TV in six months, but he says he is not going anywhere. In a new interview, he teased his comeback: "Whenever I decide to bring Hollywood Drew back to WWE, it's going to get rolling."
Here is where he has been, what he has said about returning and when it could happen.
When was Drew McIntyre last on WWE TV?
McIntyre's last WWE match was at WrestleMania 42 Night One on April 18, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match. He has not wrestled on WWE TV since.
Where has he been?
Hollywood. McIntyre has spent the time filming movies, including the Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill, directed by Chad Stahelski, and The Last Druid with Russell Crowe, which started filming in June.
He has kept his wrestling side warm, too. PWInsider reported in late August that he was back in the United States, though there had been no creative talks about a TV return at that point. In September, he posted video of himself running the ropes, and when Collider asked about his return in an interview, he would only say: "The wheels are turning."
What Drew McIntyre said about his return
In his latest comments, McIntyre credited WWE's current leadership, Nick Khan and Paul Levesque, for being far more open to wrestlers doing outside projects than the company was under Vince McMahon, as long as it helps both the wrestler and WWE.
He made it clear he is still a WWE guy. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon," he said. He also said he is 41, weighs 285 pounds and feels as fast in the ring as he has ever been. And he described the version of himself fans will see when he is back as "Hollywood Drew."
Will Drew McIntyre return at Crown Jewel?
It looks unlikely. WWE's UK account announced that McIntyre, along with Bayley, will appear at Zuffa Boxing 12 at the Copper Box Arena in London on November 7, the same night as Crown Jewel in Riyadh. WWE has not ruled him out of Crown Jewel, but he cannot be in two places at once.
When will he return?
There is no date, but the calendar points to two natural spots.
- Survivor Series on November 28. WarGames needs big names, and a surprise fifth man walking out is exactly the kind of return WWE likes to do. It would also fit the "Hollywood Drew" idea of a star who shows up when it suits him.
- The Royal Rumble in early 2027. It is the classic place for a surprise return, McIntyre has won it before, and a Rumble win would put him straight into the WrestleMania 43 picture.
Jacob Fatu is also an obvious first target. McIntyre lost their WrestleMania match, and picking up where that rivalry left off would give his return an instant story.
