Former WWE Star Sunil Singh Cleared After Collapsed Lung

Sunil Singh has been medically cleared after a collapsed lung. The former WWE star shared the news on Tuesday, November 3, in a post on the Bollywood Boyz X account: "I officially got cleared by my trauma Doctor today from my pneumothorax injury."
Singh, real name Gurv Sihra, suffered the injury during a match at a Pure Power Wrestling show in Lethbridge, Alberta, on Saturday, September 19. He has not set a date for his return, but he said he wants to get back in the ring.
How the injury happened
Singh first spoke about the injury on September 21. He said he was hurt doing a move he had done for years. After the match he had trouble breathing and could not get to his feet backstage. X-rays at the hospital showed his right lung had collapsed from the impact.
He wrote that "for a moment, it truly felt like I was facing death." He also shared what the ER doctor told him: "You are very lucky to be alive. You had angels watching over you."
Singh thanked Pure Power Wrestling, the locker room and his brother Harv for getting the medical team to the venue in time. He said one of his first thoughts was his son, and how he would take him to hockey.
A week later, on September 26, he gave a positive update. He said X-rays showed he was on the right path and that "my collapsed lung is healing," but added he was "not 100% yet" and still had more tests to do.
What he said about being cleared
In his November 3 post, Singh thanked fans for their support during his recovery. He credited a positive mindset and his faith, said he hopes to return to wrestling, and asked fans to keep backing The Bollywood Boyz. He also made clear he still has goals he wants to reach.
A collapsed lung, or pneumothorax, is a serious injury, as his ER doctor made clear. In our view, the clearance is the best possible outcome after a scary night. When he actually wrestles again is a separate question, and only Singh and his doctors can answer it.
His WWE run
Gurv and Harv Sihra came to WWE in 2016 after the Cruiserweight Classic and became Sunil and Samir Singh, The Singh Brothers. They competed in the cruiserweight division on 205 Live and also worked NXT. Their biggest spot came in 2017, when they stood beside Jinder Mahal and helped him win and keep the WWE Championship. Both brothers also held the 24/7 Championship.
Sunil's last WWE match was rough. On the June 11, 2021, episode of 205 Live, he dislocated his right shoulder against a debuting Grayson Waller and still finished the match. WWE released both brothers on June 25, 2021. Since then they have wrestled as The Bollywood Boyz again on the independent scene, which Singh called his last five years "post WWE."
