WWE Money in the Bank 2026 took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, in front of 12,935 fans. The main card started at 6 p.m. ET. It streamed on ESPN in the United States, the first Money in the Bank to do so, and on Netflix in most other countries. It was the 17th Money in the Bank event, the first one held in October and the first one held after SummerSlam. New Orleans had first been lined up for WrestleMania 42, and this show was part of the deal when those plans changed. The date also moved more than once before WWE settled on October 10.

The card had only five matches, but every one of them meant something. There were two ladder matches for the briefcases, a World Heavyweight Championship match, a Women's World Championship triple threat and a big singles match between two of the strongest men on Raw. Twelve wrestlers had a shot at a title contract, and a lot of them had never been in a Money in the Bank match before. We go through the night match by match below, with our own rating for each one. The full results are at the end.

The build

  • Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight: Reigns won a tournament held by Rey Mysterio to become World Heavyweight Champion, then retained the title against Penta in Mexico City. Knight attacked Reigns after that match and earned a title shot in New Orleans. The two had met once before in a big singles match, at Crown Jewel 2023.
  • Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed: Femi beat Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. After that, The Vision went after him, and he fought with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Femi made Reed sign a contract for this match. It was Reed's first televised match since coming back from injury.
  • Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Becky Lynch: Morgan won the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania 42. Vaquer then beat her for the title at a house show in Chile, with Lynch as the special guest referee. A number one contender's match on the October 5 Raw ended in a no contest when Vaquer attacked both challengers, which led to this triple threat.
  • The ladder matches: Each brand sent three men and three women through triple threat qualifying matches. Bron Breakker, Je'Von Evans and Penta came from Raw, and Trick Williams, Kevin Owens and CM Punk came from SmackDown. Penta took Solo Sikoa's place after The 946 abducted Sikoa during a Raw qualifier. In the women's match, Sol Ruca, Lola Vice and Roxanne Perez came from Raw, and Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne and Lash Legend came from SmackDown. CM Punk and Kevin Owens brought their own rivalry into the men's match.

Match by match

World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. LA Knight

WWE opened the show with the world title, which surprised a lot of people. Knight got under Reigns' skin early, and Reigns answered with a Superman Punch for a near fall. Knight dodged a Spear and sent Reigns into the steel ring post, then hit a Burning Hammer for another two count. Later, he caught Reigns in mid-air as he went for a Spear and turned it into the BFT, which also got only two. Knight even hit a Spear of his own, and Reigns kicked out of that too. Knight also landed a superplex from the top rope.

The match then went outside. Knight sidestepped Reigns, who crashed through the barricade into the timekeeper's area, and Knight followed with a powerbomb through the announce table. Back in the ring he hit a top-rope elbow drop. When Knight went for the BFT again, Reigns countered, crotched him on the top rope, and finished him with Superman Punches and a Spear. Reigns retained after 26:50.

For us, this was the best match LA Knight has had in a long time, and it did what a big title match should do. Knight looked like a real threat. The near falls were well timed, and the BFT counter to the Spear was a great moment. It also told a simple story: Knight hit everything he had, and Reigns was just a little bit better on the night. The trip outside, with the barricade and the announce table, gave the match a big-fight feel without taking over. Michael Cole and Corey Graves did a good job of making the near falls feel important.

Our one big complaint is the spot on the card. Putting the world title first meant there was no chance of a briefcase cash-in on this match, and that took some tension out of the whole show. It also meant the night peaked early. The match itself, though, was strong, and it is the one we would tell people to watch first. Our rating: ★★★★

Women's Money in the Bank ladder match

Six women went for the briefcase: Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez and Sol Ruca. Four of them were in the match for the first time. Stratton went big right away with a Swanton Bomb off a ladder onto the others on the floor. The ladder moved as she jumped, and she came up short, landed on the back of her head and neck on the padded floor and was seen grabbing her neck. She carried on.

The women's ladder match.

The match was full of high-risk spots. Jayne knocked a ladder out from under Ruca, who fell from height. Legend chokeslammed Stratton and Perez onto a ladder. Vice spinebustered Jayne onto a ladder, and later Jayne and Vice went backwards across a ladder to the floor, landing on their necks. Ruca hit a frog splash off the top rope onto Legend and a ladder at ringside, and the camera shot of that one looked great. Perez had the crowd behind her, and she came closest of anyone: she hit Pop Rox on Stratton and started to climb, but Ruca stopped her with the Sol Snatcher. Legend then pulled Ruca off and powerbombed her onto a ladder wedged in the corner, and climbed. Stratton met her at the top, hit her with the briefcase and unhooked it to win after 15:20.

This is the match we liked least. There was effort, and a few spots looked very good, Ruca's frog splash most of all. But too much of it was messy, and some of it looked dangerous. Stratton's early fall and the Jayne and Vice spot were the kind of moments that make you worry for the wrestlers rather than enjoy the match. The flow was choppy, with people lying around waiting for the next big spot.

The finish also left us cold. Perez was the one the crowd wanted, and Legend, Ruca and Vice all looked like fresh options. Stratton is a star and has done well with a briefcase before, so the win makes sense on paper. But giving it to someone new would have done more for the division. That is our opinion of the booking, not the effort, which nobody can fault. Our rating: ★★¾

Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed

This was Bronson Reed's first televised match since his return from injury, and Paul Heyman was shown watching backstage. Femi took control early, including a slap on the apron, but Reed answered with a dive through the ropes and a run of heavy strikes. Reed tried a Tsunami early, but Femi rolled out of the way.

Then The Vision got involved. Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri came out to distract Femi, and Logan Paul was thrown out from ringside after bringing a chair into the ring. In the chaos, brass knuckles were slipped to Reed. He hit Femi with two right hands and then a Tsunami, but Femi kicked out. Reed went to the top for a moonsault, and Femi moved. Femi then chokeslammed Theory onto the ring apron and finished Reed with the Fall From Grace after 11:40.

We had fun with this one, mostly because of the size and power. Reed and Femi hit each other very hard, and Reed's dive is still a surprise from a man that big. It took them a few minutes to find a rhythm, but once they did, it felt like a proper fight between two heavyweights. Femi kicking out of the brass knuckles and the Tsunami made him look like a monster, which is the right way to book him after beating Lesnar.

The weak side was the interference. It was easy to see coming, and three people getting involved in a match that was only twelve minutes long made it feel crowded. Logan Paul being sent to the back did not add much. We would have liked to see Femi and Reed go straight at each other for a few more minutes without help. Still, the result was right for us. Femi needed this win, and he got it in a way that made him look stronger than the whole group. Our rating: ★★★

Women's World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch

Vaquer and Lynch argued early and then sent Morgan out of the ring. Morgan came back with Three Amigos but stopped to mock her opponents, and that gave Vaquer time to recover and hit the Devil's Kiss. Vaquer hit a crossbody to the outside, a dragon screw and a backbreaker. Lynch had her moments too, with an exploder and a double DDT on both women. At one point Lynch and Vaquer worked together, suplexing Morgan on the floor and setting up a table. There was a double submission spot, and Lynch pulled referee Jessika Carr out of the ring to stop a pin, which was a nice nod to their history.

Near the end, Lynch hit the Manhandle Slam on Morgan, but Vaquer broke up the pin. Vaquer then sent Lynch off the apron and through the table at ringside. With Lynch gone, Morgan hit Oblivion on Vaquer and pinned her to win the title after 16:55. Morgan was champion again only 29 days after losing the belt in Chile, and Vaquer lost it without a single defence. It was Morgan's fourth world title.

There was also a worrying moment. Bleacher Report noted that Vaquer was limping after a dive from the top rope to the floor. The Wrestling Observer later reported, via Wrestling Inc, that she suffered a legitimate ankle injury, and she was seen hobbling out of the arena.

For us this was a solid match that never got to the next level. The three women know each other well, and the table spot and the Lynch and Carr moment were good. Morgan's win, taking advantage after the other two fought each other, fits who she is. But the result felt obvious, and Vaquer's short reign is hard to defend. Vaquer is one of the best wrestlers in the company, and the title changing back so quickly made her run feel like it did not count. If the ankle affected the finish, we cannot say. Our rating: ★★★

Men's Money in the Bank ladder match

The main event had six men: Bron Breakker, Je'Von Evans, Penta, Trick Williams, Kevin Owens and CM Punk. Williams was accompanied by Lil Yachty. Punk and Owens went after each other from the start, while Evans and Penta flew. Penta knocked Punk off a ladder early. Bron Breakker was the star of the middle part of the match. He speared people over and over, including Punk and Owens on top of a ladder, and Penta and Williams on the floor. He also speared Evans through a barricade, and Evans was stretchered out. Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis went with him, and he was loaded into an ambulance backstage.

Then came the big set piece. The ambulance drove back into the arena, and Evans climbed out of the driver's seat to rejoin the match. He went after Breakker, Penta and Williams. Lil Yachty distracted Breakker so Williams could take him out, but Owens hit Yachty and Williams with Stunners, and Yachty sold his well. Evans then climbed a tall ladder, and Breakker sent him off it and through the roof of the ambulance. Breakker went on to spear Punk and Owens through the barricade. In the end it was Penta and Breakker on a ladder bridged with another ladder. Penta hit the Mexican Destroyer and sent Breakker through the bridged ladder, then climbed and took the briefcase after 32:05. It got the loudest reaction of the night.

This match split people, and we can see both sides. The good: Breakker was a force, Evans' ambulance return was fun and gave the match a story, Punk and Owens kept their feud alive by stopping each other, and Penta's win felt like a real moment. He was also hobbled by a leg problem for much of the match, which makes the finish more impressive.

The bad: it was too long and too busy. The early part was choppy, and the ambulance stunt asked a lot of the crowd's patience. Evans took a long time to get back and climb, and the ambulance roof was clearly built to break. We like a big ladder match, but a few minutes less and one big stunt fewer would have helped. Still, it ended the show on a high. Our rating: ★★★¾

Beyond the matches

  • The post-match brawl: After the world title match, The 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) appeared in the crowd and stared down Reigns. Keys warned that they were coming for his title. Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa then attacked them, and the brawl went into the concourse and out to the parking lot, where Price threw Jimmy into a garbage can. Jaida Parker drove up in an SUV and took The 946 away. It was a busy angle, but it set up the next part of the story well.
  • Paul Heyman was shown watching Femi vs. Reed from backstage.
  • Lil Yachty was at ringside with Trick Williams in the main event and took a Stunner from Kevin Owens. Celebrity spots like this can go wrong, but his was short and fit the match.
  • The ambulance: Evans being taken out on a stretcher, with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis walking with him, and then coming back behind the wheel was the most talked-about production moment of the night.
  • Presentation: Big E and Peter Rosenberg hosted the pre-show panel, and Michael Cole and Corey Graves called the main card. Lil Wayne's "A Milli" was the official theme song, a good fit for a New Orleans show. There were no kickoff matches.
  • Post-show slip: On the post-show, Stratton said she was the first woman to win two Money in the Bank briefcases. She is actually the second, after Carmella, who joked on X that Stratton may have hit her head a little too hard.

The verdict

Money in the Bank 2026 was a good show that could have been better with a different running order and different results. The opener was the best match of the night, and that is part of the problem: once it was over, the briefcase threat was gone and the energy dropped. The women's ladder match had effort but too many scary moments and a winner that did not move the division forward. The middle of the card was solid. The men's ladder match was overbooked, but it had a lot to enjoy and a finish people will remember. For us, it is worth watching for Reigns vs. Knight and the last ten minutes of the main event.

  • Best match: Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight
  • Worst match: The women's Money in the Bank ladder match, messy and at times dangerous
  • Overall: 3.5 out of 5

What happened next

  • On the October 12 Raw, Penta celebrated his win, and Bron Breakker speared the injured Je'Von Evans as Evans congratulated him. Oba Femi turned down an approach from Paul Heyman, and Carmelo Hayes returned to help The 946 attack Solo Sikoa and The Usos.
  • Roman Reigns vs. Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn, champion vs. champion for the men's Crown Jewel Championship, was confirmed the same week for Crown Jewel 2026 in Riyadh on November 7. Liv Morgan will face WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green in a champion vs. champion match on the same show.
  • Stephanie Vaquer appeared on crutches on the October 12 Raw. She wrestled at live events in Hawaii the next weekend, but on the October 26 Raw Adam Pearce said she was not medically cleared, and Becky Lynch took her place in a title match against Morgan. Lynch won by disqualification when The Judgment Day interfered, so Morgan kept the title.
  • After that match, Tiffany Stratton hit Morgan with a moonsault and tried to cash in her briefcase, but Dominik Mysterio pulled Morgan out of the ring before she could. It was one of three times in October that Stratton's cash-in on Morgan was stopped: on SmackDown on October 23, on this Raw, and again on SmackDown on October 30, when Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez got in the way.
  • Penta teased a cash-in on the same Raw during Zayn vs. Evans, but Breakker attacked him. Pearce then booked Penta and Evans against Breakker and Austin Theory for the World Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel.
