WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was taken to a hospital in Tampa, Florida, on Friday after a fall outside a restaurant, according to TMZ. The report came just hours after Flair revealed that he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg.

Here is what we know so far.

What happened in Tampa

According to TMZ's sources, Flair fell suddenly after leaving a restaurant on Friday. The sources said he cut his head and his eye, that his eye was bleeding heavily and that he may have suffered a concussion. Emergency medical personnel treated him at the scene, and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

As of this writing, neither Flair nor his family has made a statement about the fall, and there has been no update on his condition. The details above come from TMZ's sources and have not been independently confirmed.

Flair's blood clot announcement

Earlier on Friday, Flair posted on X to apologize for canceling a scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle. He explained that he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg and that his doctors have limited his travel to three to four hours, which rules out a trip to Seattle.

In the post, Flair said he is scheduled to have a procedure to strip the affected vein, and that his doctors expect it to clear him for more travel afterward. No date has been given for the procedure. "Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening," he wrote, adding that he has to put his health and recovery first.

It is not yet clear whether the fall will affect his treatment or the timing of the procedure.

Not his first health scare

Flair is 77, and this is not the first time his health has worried fans. In 2017, he was hospitalized with a severe intestinal blockage that required surgery and kept him in the hospital for about a month. He later said he had been given only a 20 percent chance of surviving.

He recovered and went on to wrestle one final match in July 2022, years after his famous retirement match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 in 2008.

One of the greatest of all time

For many fans, Ric Flair is the definition of a professional wrestler. The Nature Boy is a 16-time world champion, one of the founding members of the Four Horsemen and a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, inducted on his own in 2008 and again with the Four Horsemen in 2012. Few wrestlers have had a bigger influence on the business, and his catchphrases and style are still copied in rings all over the world today.

Get well soon, Naitch

Everyone at WrestleSeek is wishing Ric Flair a full and speedy recovery. We hope to hear good news soon, and we will update this story as soon as there is an official update on his condition.
