SummerSlam 2026 is starting to take shape with three major matches now officially confirmed.
The two-night event is set for August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis. WWE has already locked in some big matches. Here is how each one became official and why these wrestlers are facing each other.

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins – World Heavyweight Championship
This match became official on the June 29 episode of Monday Night Raw.
After Oba Femi decided to face Brock Lesnar instead of using his title shot at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins came out and challenged Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title. Rollins reminded everyone of their long history since The Shield days and said this might be their last real chance to settle things.
Roman accepted the challenge and said he needs to beat Rollins in front of his family. He ended the segment by saying, “SummerSlam, we close the door on The Shield. Forever.”
This is one of the most personal matches on the card and has been years in the making.
Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar – Hell in a Cell Match
This match was set up on the same episode of Raw. Oba Femi won the King of the Ring at Night of Champions, which earned him a guaranteed title shot at SummerSlam. However, instead of using that title opportunity right away, Femi decided to put his title shot on hold.
He chose to settle his unfinished business with Brock Lesnar first. Brock Lesnar then came out and challenged Oba Femi to a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam. This will be their third meeting, and the brutal cell structure makes it even more dangerous.
Femi is expected to go after the champion of his choosing after SummerSlam.
Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky – Women’s World Championship
This was the first match confirmed for SummerSlam. At Night of Champions on June 27, Iyo Sky defeated Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final. Right after winning, Iyo Sky challenged Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Title at SummerSlam.
Liv had been dealing with Danhausen’s curse in the weeks leading up to Night of Champions, and Iyo took advantage of the situation to earn her shot. This will be a rematch from their Queen of the Ring final, but this time the Women’s World Championship is on the line.
What’s Next for SummerSlam 2026
These three matches are currently the biggest ones confirmed for SummerSlam. More matches are expected to be added in the coming weeks as the storylines continue to build.
With Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins, Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar in Hell in a Cell, and Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky already locked in, SummerSlam is shaping up to be a very strong two-night event.
Fans are especially excited about the personal story between Roman and Seth, as well as the brutal Hell in a Cell match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar.
